Spotify scam?

new user here, haven't tried premium nor the free trial (which fills the requirements for the holiday promotion $0.99 for 3 months)

however when clicking upgrade now , it leads you to either of these 2 situations.

1. It appears that you are not eligible for the discounted product that you are trying to purchase. If you'd like you can still upgrade your account to premium at any time.

2. It asks you to try the trial and pay $9.99 after the trial has ended.

May i ask if this holiday promotion is real or is it just a marketing scheme to lure and cheat new customers?

It definitely isn't a scam, several people on the community have managed to set it up. What country are you in?
