Spotify won't recognize update

Spotify won't recognize update

I just signed up for my free trial of Spotify for 30 days followed by a premium subscription, but both my phone and laptop are telling me that I am back on the free version. My account does not show a receipt for my order and says that I need to upgrade. However, I have an e-mail from Spotify thanking me for my purchase. I DO NOT want to be charged twice and would just like to have my account up to date. I have logged in and out. etc. Help!

It gave a long number as the username instead of my Spotify username, this may be the problem?

Yes, it means you have subscribed on a Spotify account tied to your Facebook (so logging in using Facebook) rather than your real Spotify account. 

If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they will be able to lend a hand to get you up and running on the right account. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Ohhh that was my problem!! I was logged in with facebook instead of my account when I purchased! Now that I logged in through Facebook it's showing my account, thank you!
