I see that this thread is 7 years old and not a single reply by Spotify staff. Spotify has seemingly tried to prioritize playlists to its users, yet it’s still one of the weakest aspects of the app in 2022.
While I’m able to sort alphabetically, the inability to add a song (or episode) to multiple playlists at once is another ridiculous oversight that is not only incredibly annoying but a huge time waster.
To add to the lunacy, when using my Car Thing device there’s no way to even add a track to a single playlist; not only via the device, but even on my iPhone! Even stranger, I can sometimes add a track to a playlist on my phone when using The Car Thing, but only around 10% of the time. How is this overlooked?
It’s as if the developers and workers at Spotify don’t even use their own app, because if they did they’d realize just how unintuitive and un user friendly these oversights are. I have a half dozen additional suggestions for blatantly obvious features that should have been implemented forever ago (and some which reps will claim are in the works yet of course nothing changes). There are literally thousands of users who’ve hearted l/liked the feature request for adding a track to multiple playlists at once, yet because they are spread out amongst a few different threads they don’t garner enough traction. Regardless, you’d think the folks who run Spotify would realize this and other features are no brainers…
Like there being no ‘About Artist’ info to learn about the band or artist you’re listening to, or the option to see if a track is already in a playlist before you try to add it to one, the ability to recognize and remove duplicate songs when an exact recording exists in multiple albums (ex: original LP, greatest hits, compilations, etc).
I realize I’m off topic, but since Spotify doesn’t seem to care about implementing such obvious features and doesn’t listen when users request them, maybe if I repeat the same thing every time I comment someone with some common sense will prioritize this.
