Streaming on-demand music?

So I'm getting ready to go on vacation for a month. I've made a special 'favorites' playlist to listen to that should tide me over.... 

But my parents are talking about borrowing my iPod and/or Nexus and streaming music that isn't on any of my playlists. On Demand music, I guess you'd call it. 

Can I still listen to music that's not on my playlists while I'm offline?

This probably isn't the right section, and I'm SURE that someone's already made like 10 billion threads on this, but I can't find anything in the FAQ, and a google search only brings up the FAQ. Which isn't helpful at all. 😛

That isn't possible 😞

The songs need to be on a playlist that you've made available offline. Songs not in your offline playlists and songs that aren't in your library at all will not play unless you have an internet connection.
