Transaction problem while redeeming a gift code

Hi Spotify,

 

l was about to redeem a gift code, and pushed the button "get premium" I was immediately directed to a page, where it showed me a receipt of what I was about to buy: "a month of Spotify Premium Subscribsition", assuming that I could use my gift code to pay for this I pressed "Continue". But immediately a transaction was made and the money was withdrawn from my account using paypal, with no way of cancelling it. So I tried to find a way to contact you about this issue of mine, but without luck. As your customer service is the worst I have ever met, the fact that you do not make it clear for your customers to find a way of contacting you is disturbing, all you got is a hard-to-find forum, that seems to be rarely answered by any spotify staff. It's as if you are trying to avoid negative feedback from your customers. 

 

So what I'm asking for is an apology, full refund of the money involved in the payment, including the ones withdrawn from paypal, for the inconvienience and a polite request to make you reconsider your customer/refund service, as I am sure, I will not be the only annoyed by your system.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

Since this is a billing issue, you will need to get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to look into this a little closer for you. Normally the gift card and payments systems are completely seperate, so I am not sure what has gone wrong here. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

 

These forums are generally only for community support, Spotify provide direct email support using the online contact system for other support with their teams.
