I originally used Facebook to sign up for Spotify (the free service). It's been a few years since I last tried logging in.
When I try to log in using Facebook, it says, "You do not have a Spotify account connected to your Facebook account."
When I try to log in with e-mail, using my Facebook login information, it says, "Incorrect username or password." I have confirmed that my Facebook login info is still what I thought it was, and have checked multiple times for misspellings/capslock.
When I try to create a new account using my e-mail address (the same e-mail I use for my Facebook login), it says the e-mail address is already taken. When I try to reset the password, it says, "It looks like you are using your Facebook credentials to log in to Spotify." Finally, when I try to sign up using Facebook, I get an "Oops! Something went wrong [. . .]" message.
I have tried going through the Facebook app, to no avail. (I don't even get a message there; the buttons just don't do anything).
So, I apparently both do and do not have a Spotify account through Facebook, and have an account associated with my e-mail, but which I can't reset the password to and which also won't accept any of the passwords I use, including my Facebook password.
The situation has me baffled, and I haven't found any answers searching this forum or on Google. Any help?
Postscript: I have created a new account in order to post this message . . . because apparently you need to have an account in order to post here to get help about trouble logging in to your account. Maybe I missed something. Anyway, at this point I have a new account, and can just use it instead of my first account, but I'm curious to find out what in the actually sentient dinner was going on with my first account, and maybe other people are having the same issue and can't log in to post here to get help with logging in.
