Upgrade from 99p Promotion

I started the 99p promotion and tried to link it to my Amazon Echo Plus. The account linked ok, but Alexa says a premium account is required. I then signed up for Family Spotify. Cancelled my 3 Month PayPal prepayments. Tried inviting my Family, but when they get the invite it says you need a premium account. Amazon Echo still not playing Spotify although I have linked the account and made Spotify the default App.

Why are things so complicated nowadays and never work

Help, Just need my Echo Plus to work with Spotify
