My Question or Issue

Hello, I recently logged on my spotify on my pc and descovered that my name has changed from Djcjaxellund to 579u242ft897a1g2j4eu0rxza. I haven't done anything special to trigger this. Then i went on my spotify profile on the internett browser and saw that my name was indeed changed to 579u242ft897a1g2j4eu0rxza. However when i checked my spotify on my android, I noticed that my name has not changed, and remained Djcjaxellund. I haven't logged out from my android spotify in a while.

Just to confirm, was your account created through Facebook?

If so, it's possible that you might have opted out for sharing data with Facebook.

This would explain why you see your username as a string of numbers instead of your Facebook name as your displayed name.

In that case, I'd recommend checking if the option "Facebook Processing Data" is enabled here. (Spotify needs to be allowed to have access to your personal data in order for your display name to be changed).

You can also log in on your Facebook profile and make sure that you have granted Spotify access to your personal information, for example, your name. You can do this from here.

Keep in mind that it might take up to 48 hours for the changes to be reflected on your Spotify profile.

I haven't linked my Facebook, however I asked a friend of mine to check my username. And It seemed that my username hasn't changed. But when I got back on my spotify, it seemed that my username has changed back. So I guess it was som weird glitch that worked it self out. I don't know if the username on my browser should display the original username or the other wierd one. But the username displayed on the browser is still the random name. If that is normal then there is no problem.
