My Question or Issue

 I show up as a number, no username. I no longer have a facebook. How do I set my username..?

Hey @killerstephen, and welcome to the community. 

Hope you’re doing great!

Unfortunately at this time it is not possible to change an account’s username. The closest you can get is to link your Spotify account to your Facebook profile so that your Facebook display name is the one shown on your account. 

If you are really desperate to change your username, it is possible to create a new account.

Hi, when I linked my Facebook account to my Spotify, my display name did not change. It only shows my first name rather than my full name, and I'm not quite sure how to fix it. Any idea how to fix this?

Feels odd that the answer is always, "make a new account".

In 2018 Spotify hasnt figured out a way to allow users to change a username, or pic without creating a new account?

Thanks for getting in touch!

Could you login on the website and go to Privacy Settings? Check if you have opted out of Spotify processing your Facebook data. When you opt out there, it keeps your account usable but it will stop using a lot of data, for example your name. You can read here what information exactly.

Log in on your Facebook profile as well and make sure that you have granted Spotify access to your personal information, for example your friends list.

I think the reason that he asks that is because your information was blatantly wrong, there is no way to change your username on Spotify.

My username is still bugged and does not even have my Facebook name as my display name. Spotify's username system is flawed and extremely frustrating to deal with.

Hey @killerstephen,

If you've checked your privacy settings, and you still can't see your Facebook name or picture, go to Facebook, under apps settings, and remove the Spotify app from there. Log out from Facebook and from Spotify, and log back in on your Spotify account. This might refresh the settings. Keep in mind that the change of the privacy setting may take a while until it gets realized. 

 @user-removed, it sounds like you didn't create your account through Facebook, but simply connected Facebook to your account after its creation. We suggest that you disconnect your Facebook profile from Spotify, re-connect it, and wait 48 hours. Make sure you're logged in on the right Facebook profile on your device while doing this. You'll find the steps here.
