Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

It appears that the downloads store is in the process of being removed from the Spotify client, to focus purely on streaming. You can read more information and replies that people have got from the customer services team over in this topic.

I am another unhappy premium member. I left Napster and joined spotify because napster stopped purchasing downloads. interesting the spotify site still lists downloads and how to pay/ acheive them? what is going on!!!  Have spotify stopped because of commercial interests, technical issues or what?

The ability to compile playlists and burn your own cds is an important issue.

I have also noticed that Napster get new album releases before spotify in an number of cases.

Is the issue one of spotify cutting costs to make more profits? if so it is heading for the long road downwards in popularity

Thanks for your posts.

Looks like iplayer for me. Anyone else got any recommendations?

It is particularly sad that people will not take your money for a service - what would be a fair price? If you can't download music I'm not staying - who will also leave? Can't get advertising revenue when you have no market...

I've go an idea - lets set up a service selling muisc under licence - we could call it SPORTIFY and buy their back catalogue..

Only joking - bit p****d off by their lack of respect for their customers.

You can still stream music from Spotify, there are no changes to any of the subscription plans.

To be honest, I never used the Spotify Downloads store since there are better (and cheaper) sources for high quality music downloads out there.

Thanks - I'll go to these other companies!

Probably keep Spotify (as long as I don't have to pay) for the occasional browse to widen my tastes, but then have to go elsewhere to buy the tracks (yes I do want ownership I guess).

What is disappointing is that while Spotify may want to concentrate on streaming there is clearly some money to be made from downloads still. Had I been Spotify I would have a) completed appropriate research b) migrated all who wanted this functionality to a similar system (and kept the revenue stream).

This is a 'no-brainer' and unfortunately this move to focus purely on streaming appears shortsighted.

I'm assuming that they are prearing the company for takeover??

i am not aware of any sites that a/ allow you to listen to album tracks  b/ create your own compilation 'albums'  c/ purchase this as a download to burn to cd/mp3 player? if you know of any please  circulate as i expect a lot of other peole would be interested.
