Why is my profile not showing?

My Question or Issue

When I log into spotify my profile won't fully show up. All I can see is my ID (some numbers instead of my Facebook name as previously), my followers and my recently played artists. You can't find me by typing in my name and you can't see my (public) playlists. My account is linked to my facebook profile.

This issue appears both on phone, as well as in the desktop app.

It sounds like the connection between your Facebook profile and your Spotify account has been broken. There is a few reasons how this can happen but don't worry, your Spotify account should still be there.

Try to request a new password on this page. Fill in the email address you use in your Facebook profile and we'll send you a password reset link. You should then be able to log in to Spotify with your email address as your username.

It actually worked to some extend, I can now see my name and profile picture again. However, you still can't find my profile by typing in my name. For some reason you can now find my playlists by typing in its names and they show up in my profile (that seemingly only I can access). But I noticed, that this does NOT apply to collaborative playlists (that I created). They are still extinct and can't be found anywhere. 

I accepted your response as a solution to my specific problem, but it isn't entirely resolved yet. I think there might be a bigger problem with spotify or its servers. I read a lot about this topic before posting here and found out that many people have similar issues, so that is something the spotify devs should REALLY look into.

Thanks for getting back to us.

Could you log into your Facebook profile here and see if you can still see the Spotify app among all the other apps you might have there? If it's still there, make sure that Spotify has all the required permissions so we are allowed to use your Facebook information to be displayed on your Spotify account. Keep in mind that the changes won't take effect right away so give it a few days.

If there you don't see Spotify anymore, you can choose to create a new account. If you do so without your Facebook profile, your account will be a Spotify account with it's own username. Of course later you can connect your Facebook profile to your new Spotify account to get all the social features. The benefit of this is that whatever happens to your Facebook profile, your Spotify account will still be intact. You can find information on how to get a new account without Facebook here.

If you don't want to lose your music, make sure all your songs are in a public playlist so you can visit your old profile with your new account and grab the playlists from there. You can find an account by searching the following in Spotify:

spotify:user:username

Replace username with the digits/code you see as a username now.
