Hi, 
I wanted to clarify something mentioned during the Account closing process. It mentions, "Your username, it can't be used with Spotify again".
Does this mean that this username will be unusable by anyone forever?

One example, I create an account "Accountname1" and close it. Is "Accountname1" becoming unavailable from everyone forever?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

Your username is designed by Spotify to identify you on Spotify, so you can't change it and you can't create it.

However, It's possible to change your display name that replaces the username where it shows on your profile, app, and playlists.

Yes, that's correct. The username can't be used by anyone else if you decide to close your Spotify account.

Keep in mind that the display name and the username are two different things. Usernames are unique, while display names (the name that shows on your profile, the app, and playlists) are not.

One last question, when searching for someone, does the search look for the username or/and the display name?
