changing username by closing down account and opening new one

Hi,

I'd like to change my username, which I chose without thinking nearly two years ago... As it is simply not possible, I thought of closing down my account and opening a new one. But I got the impression that if I wanted to open a new account I would have to subscribe to Facebook. I've no Facebook account and do not intend to have one. (same applies to Twitter or other social networks). Is it possible to start a new account with Spotify with a new username without being a member of Facebook or other social networks?

No. Spotify has closed creation of new accounts and uses Facebook to authenticate instead. You can't have a new username.
