difference between label and tag

What is the difference between label and tag when posting?  Spotify, we're not mind-readers; we don't know how you use this metadata, or the intention of it.  Label and tag can mean very similiar things or even be used interchangably in software.

Both labels and tags are used to improve users' navigation between posts of a similar type. You can write anything in the tag box when posting. However, you can only select labels from the list provided, for example, in playlist exchange.
