email is already in use before i sign up

My Question or Issue

i tried to start an accout for my daughter. so when i sign up spotify says email account already used, then i do a password reset it says the email does not have an active account. the account seems locked, so how do i reset a password that does not have an active account.

still did not work" the username or email you provided is not associated with an active spotify account"

my daughter does not have a facebook account so that has nothing to do with this.

tried to sign up "that email address  is already registered"

any other ideas for what is going on?
