mutual blocking

is there any way for two accounts that have blocked one another to unblock? we can’t see each other on the blocked users page. if it’s not possible one of us will create a new account. is there any way to transfer playlists (especially liked songs) from the current account to the new one?

Hey there, @human_being73,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

That's odd. You should be able to see each other's profiles when you go to Settings > Privacy and social > Blocked users on the mobile app and unblock each other.

If you don't, you can use the workaround you mentioned where one of you creates a new account. There's a guide on how to transfer your playlists and Liked Songs here, check it out!

Cheers 🤘

This has been an issue noted earlier  on 2023-08-08  02:55 PM , and the proposed solution is transferring the account? Seriously? Mutually blocked account don't appear in the list.

Recently I asked Spotify support to mutually block an account that had already blocked me. After doing so, all the accounts on my block list disappeared and now my block list shows as empty, I believe there may be a bug where if someone has a user mutually blocked, their block list will now show empty. This needs to be fixed because we cannot see other accounts we have blocked.

I hope that Spotify changes this ridiculous mutual blocking deadlock because sometimes it can either be accidental or you are unaware it’s mutual and there is zero warning that you will become invisible and deadlocked and have to spend hours and hours on customer support trying to get it reversed. In most other platforms, you can Still see the profile that you blocked whether it was one-way or mutual and have the ability to unblock if you choose to do so. With Spotify, there is no means to reverse, and there is no warning whatsoever. This is an absolutely terrible decision on Spotify’s part.
