"Unable to update password" when trying to change password

When I try to change my spotify password, the email comes through and I can go to the page where one is supposed to change their password, but when I enter a password which fulfils all the specified criteria, I am simply returned with the message "Unable to update password" in a blue box with no other explanation or reason. Why is this, and how can I fix it?

Hey there @jhousden2003, I'm sorry you're going through this issue. Please contact support for further help as they'll be able to update your password and see what's going on.

If you receive an automated email directing you to the community and/or help boards, make sure you reply directly to that email (even if it says it is no-reply) and an agent will get back to you as soon as possible.
