My Question or Issue
my shuffle, repeat and previous song buttons are missing. I have tried reinstalling the app. it's so annoying pls do something abt it. and it's a problem with my account cuz a new account is working fine.
Hello @okthea!
Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community. I'll try to help you out. From the screenshots, it looks like you don't have a Premium subscription on this account. Can you let me know if you're able to use other Premium features like on-demand or add-free listening?
Keep me posted 🙂
I don't have premium
Hello @okthea!
Thanks for your reply. On-demand listening on mobile devices is a Premium feature. This means you're not able to turn off shuffle, loop songs, or repeat a previous song in most playlists as a Free account.
However, I'd recommend taking advantage of on-demand playlists. In these lists, you're able to choose any song. Some of them are Rap Caviar, Daily Mixes, etc. I'd also recommend checking out this article by Spotify for more features Free users can take advantage of.
Hope that helped clear things up 🙂
thanks a lot for replying.
I hv an issue tho, I know people who have free account who are able to use the loop and shuffle features on their mobile app. even in my new account I can use those features.
so why is it that my old account is facing this problem? does spotify choose users who are unable to use these features? because this is really unfair and I'm disappointed.
I don't think this is a case of free and premium accounts if some free users have these features and rest do not.
still, thank u.
Hello @okthea!
Thanks for your reply. The ability to pick and play any song in a playlist on mobile devices is available for Premium users and Free users on select playlists. Some of these playlists are Discover Weekly, Rap Caviar, Broken Heart, Daily Mixes... Can you let me know if the accounts you mentioned were using these features in one of these playlists? It would be great if you could test if there is a difference when you play a playlist using another Free account.
Keep me posted 🙂
no they weren't
these features were available to them in any Playlist, album whatsoever
Hello @okthea!
Thanks for your feedback, Spotify is always testing possible improvements and new features. This means other users might see something on the app that you don't (and viceversa), or get a brand-new feature for only a temporary period. I'd recommend keeping the Spotify app updated to make sure you don't miss anything.
Have a nice day 🙂
