spotify not working on samsung galaxy s4

Solved!

spotify not working on samsung galaxy s4

I previously had a samsung galaxy s2 and have just upgraded to a s4. My spotify worked at first but now just shows a blank screen? I've never had any problems before. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling numerous times.
Please help!

What android version? If you're using an external SD card, could you try removing it then reinstall spotify and see if it works?

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

There are many reports of white screen issues on the lastest android app, outlined in this topic. The last few pages have links to older app versions which are worth a shot 😉

i've been hearing great things and i've signed up for it on my pc, but when i go to get it from google play, or using the browser on my phone to get it straight from the site, it starts off with the little downloading thing but then ends with the 'invalid file package' message.

any help?

What phone and android version? By site, are you going to http://m.spotify.com ?

Hi I recently downloaded the up date version of Spotify. When I open the app it's a black screen and says unfortunately Spotify has stopped running. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled same problem it now causes my phone to crash.

Hi. What mobile device and operating sytem version are you using?

I've removed the sd card and it work's. But why not when the sd card is in?

The chances are that you have android 4.4.2 (check under android settings/general/about device) spotify can't use the external SD card. You'll find more background with a google search "android 4.4.2 external SD". The old cache is probably still present on your card under \android\data and can be safely deleted.

I'm waiting to hear back from Spotify on whether this is something which can be fixed in a future release. Keep an eye on the android section of the community for news.
