Welcome to the forums!

These numbers usually appear when a user signs up through facebook.

You could try a log out and then log back in. 

If that does not help please revoke access to Spotify here: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications and log in again.

Hey everyone,

As Spotify looks to improve the overall experience, they’re now automatically generating usernames, hence the random letters and numbers.

You don’t need to remember this to log in. You can access your account with your email address and password.

During signup, you can personalize your account by creating a profile name that’s displayed in the app. There are no limitations to a profile name, so you can choose any name you like 🙂

I've been researching this for awhile, and I've come to the conclusion that this has a lot to do with playlists. Why? I theorize that because there are soooo many millions of people signing up, spoify needed a better way to index it's users/and or associate content with a user. This is why in essence we have two names; your real account name "afbz7z6yr016plake541m1727," and then your alias "EastBlood."

An example of what i'm talking about, try sharing a playlist that you've created. Take note of the entire URL in your playlist. You'll noticed that "afbz7z6yr016plake541m1727" will be referenced in the URL.

Facebook unfortunately picks up Spotify's autogenerated ID, and not your chosen alias.. This is what no one at Spotify support is able to tell you. This is simpy a programming issue. But because it's not a major issue, it will be a low priority. So, if you're using facebook, you'll just have to deal with it. It's not something that causes your account to be inoperative.

For some reason, the autogenerated ID seems to only be ises by mobile devices. You only need to log in to your mobile device once with that ID. For desk tops, you should be able to use the ID you chose.

Nope! It's not possible to log in with the profile name 🙂

Try and select "Forgot password" and see if it emails you your chosen ID. This way you can til out any typos.

Sorry, I was on the subway when I messaged you ealier. I didn't realize what you were asking. You can only loging using your email. But either way, it's better than using that autogenerated ID. If that doesn't work, something had to have happened at the point of creation of your account. If it's a premium account, I think it would be better for you to set up a chat with tech support, and try to figure it out.. You'll get more professional support there, than here. Actually, I forgot, I don't think any staff works on the message board. I think I read somewhere that the boards are user supported.
