8.9.2.169 is bugged for me as well, Pixel 6 Pro with no update pushed through stable or beta channel through google play.

Someone in a different thread said it was fixed on an upcoming version 8.9.4

I personally haven't received that version with the fix to confirm yet. It's getting annoying that this is still an issue, I want to play music from my phone and can't. Thankfully while at home Google connected devices can play music, or the TV app, but I can't use my phone for some days to pick quicker what I want to play (the Google speakers have trouble figuring out what I ask them to play if the artists are non English).

Same problem here. 

Cleared cache and even un-installed and did a clean reinstall. 

Restarted the device (oneplus 8T).

Spotify only starts to the point I entered login data then crash and after every new try to start full crash again. 

Happens since update on 28. December and I don't get the chance for another update

Cleared app cache.

Uninstalled spotify - reinstalled - rebooted the phone (oneplus 8T).

I get the login screen an the crash. 

And final endless click - crash on every further try to start the app.

My Question or Issue

After the most recent update I've found I can't open the app at all- I get an App Not Responding message, and a pop-up saying "Something went wrong with Spotify. Spotify closed because this app has a bug. Try updating this app after its developer provides a fix for this error."

I'm wondering what could be the cause of this?

Hey guys, I found a workaround if you don't want to bother leaving beta. 

If you use Chrome on your phone, the web player should work. You just log in with your regular Spotify credentials and it's behavior is like the app (you can hear over a minimized web player for example). The Library is very finicky but Search should work, so you can try finding your playlists that way if they aren't showing up on your Home tab.
