[ANDROID] Spotify stops play and resets to 0:00 when opening other apps ( Google Maps, Spotify)

Ive tried this on bluetooth, off bluetooth but havent been able to try it while connected to  headphones but its frustrating whenever I open another app to either get directions or check a photo/take a photo and my music completely quits. Anyone have any idea of how to fix this?

EDIT: after some thinking could it relate to the fact that I have a low-end phone and it has I believe  a smaller amount of ram. Cant find the exact number
