After I deactivated a private session, the android app no longer sends songs I listen to Facebook.

Like I said on the title of this post, a few days ago I wanted to try the "private session" functionality on the android app. It's doesn't work that well compared to the iOS version. The thing is when I deactivated it, the android app stopped sending the songs I listen to Facebook. I tried loggin out from within the app, I deleted spotify from the Facebook application list, I logged in again. Didn't work. Then I had to uninstall the app from my phone in order to reinstall it again and see if that solved the issue, but no. Nothing changed. Maybe it's worth noting that I have no problem whatsoever with last.fm. Also, I use the iOS version on my iPod touch and the private session works flawlessly. But my main device it's my android phone (i have a Samsung Galaxy S3) and this frustrates me a little 'cause I can't solve it. Any kind of help is welcome. Thank you.

I would like to add that the last time Spotify posted anything to my Facebook Timeline was back on October 10th, BEFORE I received an update to the Spotify app. I remember being notified of an update (....407) to the app and hoping that this would bring a fix. It did not.

Did you all experience this after deactivating a private session? A few of you haven't mentioned this being the trigger--rather just updating your app.

I just noticed one day that it wasn't working, probably about a month ago. I don't use private sessions.

Since then I've been trying everything I can think of to fix it, still no luck.

Yes, it happened after I toggled the option for a private session.

I did all of the obvious, uninstall and reinstall the app.  I even did a factory reset on my phone and deleted the cache and application data from my sd card, but nothing has worked! Please help!

Yes, like I said I had absolutely no problems before I activated the private session functionality. Once I deactivated it, simply the app stopped sending the songs I listen to Facebook.

I don't know what prompted the issue for me. but everything worked fine until about two weeks ago.

this is an issue with the Spotify app, since the new release came out. why don't you give us the option to download the previous version and see if that works?? is this the only place we can get help? where are the programmers? I'm spending 11 bucks a month for an app that's not working right.

I guess maybe we could go into our app settings and uninstall the updates. That might work.

the only alternative I found as a temporary solution for posting activity to Facebook is to enable the Last FM scrobbler.its not in real time at least if you're interested in tracking your statistics it will take care of that for the time being.

I have always enabled last.fm scrobbler and still nothing into facebook. Never used private mode or changed settings. After update stopped.

Just updated to 0.7.2.402-g40e8dcb4 - it still doesn't post my listening activity.

Verizon pushed out an update to my Galaxy S4 to give me Android version 4.3 and I'm still having the same problem. Also, I updated the Spotify app today to version 0.7.2.402.g40e8dcb4 and still no luck :-(.
