My Issue
When I use spotify over a wired android auto connection in my car, the artist info is not displayed on the main screen. However, it is visible when I view the queue.
What's happening here? Could it be a resolution/dpi problem?
Hey,
Thanks for posting here.
Could you try updating to the latest Android Auto version to see if anything changes?
Let us know how it goes.
Isn't this the latest version? According to the play store I have no updates
Hi there @HomicidalDwarf,
Thank you for your reply and your confirmation.
Can you let us know what happens if you try to skip the song or turn Android Auto off and then back on again?
We'll keep an eye out for your reply.
Take care!
Hey @HomicidalDwarf,
Thanks for the posts and for sharing your troubleshooting with the Community.
Let us know if you hear back from the manufacturer. This issue could very well be related to that, since the Spotify app for cars is developed by the manufacturer using Spotify API and it often differs between brands and models.
Keep us posted on how you get on.
Just to give a quick update on the situation.
I've heard back from Jeep. There is a update ready for my car. I might (or not) resolve this. Jeep suggested me to contact my seller to apply the software update and return to them if the issue is still present.
Hey @HomicidalDwarf,
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
This info is really helpful for other users facing similar issues 🙂
Cheers!
My journey pauses here for the moment.
In short, this this where I'm at:
Jeep doesn't know what causes the issue. There is a software update available for my vehicle which might possibly solve it, or not. They suggest I do the update and they will investigate further if the issue remains.
However, the update costs a little more than 100 euros.
I am not willing to pay that amount for:
1. a vehicle that is not my property
2. an update that might or might not solve an issue
3. an issue that isn't even that critical
So for now, I'll live with it.
sorry guys 😉
