My Question or Issue

Basically Once I updated from android 11 to android 12 on my a32, the app failed to skip to the next album cover art song until I pressed the pause button. If I leave the song it goes continuously until the next song plays, where the previous song's cover shows instead.

Tried restarting and the app bugged again after a few hours.

Hi there @sbs7537z,

Thank you for taking the time to post here in the Community. Let's take a closer look into this.

To start with, can you make sure there's no old cache files that's causing this by following the steps that's provided in this article?

If that doesn't do the trick and you have an SD card we suggest that you uninstall the app > turn off your phone > take out your SD card > turn on the phone again (without the SD card) > reinstall the app since the card can be corrupted.

Let us know how everything goes.

Have a great Friday and start of your weekend 🙂

Take care!

Hello,

I have done through each step you have told me to. Spotify still does not sync the cover art while skipping songs.

I also do not have an SD card in the phone.

Hey @sbs7537z,

Thanks for the reply and the troubleshooting steps you've tried.

Could you make sure, that Spotify is set as an exception in the battery optimization settings on your phone? Here is more information on how to do that.

Does the issue persist also with another account on your device?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Once I enable the battery optimization exclusion list (adding spotify into that list), the problem still persists.

Using an alt account (with no premium), the issue still persists.

Hey @sbs7537z,

Thanks for keeping us in the loop here.

If this prelists using an alternative account on your device, then could we also ask you to try logging in with your account on different device? This is to conclude if the situation is device and not account related. See if on an alternative device, the sync with the cover art of a track happens as expected.

Additionally, could you send us a short video of the situation on your end so we can take a closer look and advise you better.

Let us know how things work out, we'll be keeping an eye out for your reply.

Hey there,

Thanks for the replies,

Could you confirm the issue persists on a different device than the originally used? This'll help us narrow down the reasons for this behavior.

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

hi, the problem does not happen on other devices.

Hey @kxvin,

Thanks for getting back to us!

Can you let us know if you've already performed a clean reinstallation of the app on your device? It'll get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and fixes and will remove any corrupted files from previous installations. If not, please refer to the steps that @Jeremy suggested earlier in this thread and try that. Usually, this tends to solve issues with the app's performance.

In case that doesn't do the trick and you're still experiencing this, it'd be great if you could send us a quick video where we can take a better look at this behavior. Also, include in your next response the make, model and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply!
