My Question or Issue

When connecting Spotify to a speaker with built-in "Spotify Connect" and built-in "Chromecast" you can switch between these two modes". When using "Chromecast" the volumesteps are "+1" or "-1" when hitting the volume-buttons. When using "Spotify Connect" the steps vary from 2-3 each time when you hit the buttons wich are much to big and the volume tends to be too highh or too low.

Yes, I did a clean install, cleared all caches, restarted router, phone, speaker.

Same problem with new Samsung 900 series soundbar… Spotify!!! Fix it!!! Jesus. Works with Apple Music.

Likewise on my Samsung Q900T. Funny thing is that it did work from 2021 until somewhen this summer, but now volume control between latest spotify on latest iOS shows a factor of 6 - making it totally meaningless.

Wow, and it only took you 2 years and 8 month to say: "Thank you for your input, I'll do my very best to put it where it belongs: in the trash-bin"

Ivelina, that reply was at least tone deaf. Maybe something more concrete?

I'm going to email some sort of safety compliance within Swedish Government. That might get this fixed. I've always blown my ear drums a few times now when guests have clicked volume up just 3 times.

I would like to second previews commments. I have SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase now and listen via Spotify Connect. The problem starts with the size of the volume widget. It's simply too small!. Give it twice the size and I it can have twice as many steps for changing volume. It's also rather fiddly to deal with a volume widget via mouse where a movement of 1 pixel results in a fairly big change in volume. Really, make it at least twice the size and move it to some other place if necessary. Use the whole width of the window bottom if necessary.

Using Ctrol+Arrow keys is a little less fiddly than mouse, but applies the same large volume steps. I guess the reason is that the shortcut simply moves the knob of the volume control, which hints in the same direction for the solution: make it bigger.

Hi Ivelina, just to let you know that as of today I am not able to control the volume of the external speaker through the spotify app at all. iOS, spotify and soundbar all have the newest software/firmware installed of course. Is there any progress on your end?

Hi, still the same problem with my new Marantz 40n. Thinking about switching to Tidal. Lost my confidence in Spotify. Also their promise of coming up with lossless audio is already delayed by years.

Wow yet another common user request that Spotify doesn't do anything with.

I thought you were supposed to be Agile.

This is still a problem with my high end yamaha ! FIX IT ALREADY!

I have been sending emails to Spotify support about this issue since yesterday.

I have the same problem when I use Spotify on my Onkyo RZ50. With my Android 13 phone, each volume step corresponds to 5 db. This is getting very annoying.

Apparently Spotify is not trying to solve this problem.

Marantz SR7013 also has the same issue. Still. In 2024. Please fix!!

Same issue on a Samsung Q800D soundbar.

Chromecast works fine. But Spotify Connect to the soundbar uses increments of 6. So 6 is too quiet, 12 is too loud even during the day, and 18 would blow my eardrums.

Same issue here on a Marantz Cinema 70s. Keep posting, maybe one day...

Same for me on various devices from Sony, bluesound. Years later. YAWN, Spotify
