Android marshmallow and sound quality

Solved!

Android marshmallow and sound quality

Hi, recently I update to preview 3 of Android on my nexus 5.
After download all my Playlist the sound has a lot of noise like clips, or interference like old modem dial.

This seems to have worked for me on 4g also.

It might solve the issue, but not the problem. I need the equalizer to give me proper sound, and Spotify just needs the fix their app so I can use it to the full extend...

Still not a valid solution to the problem. I want my equalizer.

Still no solution here. I'm having the same problem on a Nexus 9 and EQ is off.

Seems I have the same issue. Marshmallow on Nexus 5. Sometimes the sound is awful. Sounds like an old analog radio. Turning off equalizer helps but the quality of sound worsens immediately. I like my equalizer presets the most.
Spotify please fix it. I don't want to get back to my local music library.

Indeed, still no solution. This escalated from annoying to a killer bug. I'm looking at other services

Hi,
Since installing Marshmallow, I also have this sound problem. It's really annoying and for the first time in 2 years, I'm considering to stop my subscription... Come on Spotify, do something !!!

Two months since first post in this thread and still no solution! Is Spotify even reading this  forum? My Premium account has been useless since I upgraded to Android 6.0.

Spotify, can I have my money back? And no, the problem is not solved although this thread is marked solved!

That's it, I'm tired. Listening to music with Spotify on Nexus 5 has become impossible since Marshmallow. Too many interferences and sound distortions. I never thought I could say that but I'm cancelling my subscription by the end of the month. Byebye Spotify, you lost a fellow user !

I just upgraded to version 4.1.0.868 and I'm still having the same issues on a Nexus 9. Still no issue in landscape mode, but that's an annoying workaround to be honest and it's getting pretty frustrating.

I have also been notified by my device that after only 2 weeks into monthly data allowance that my usage has breached my limit warning. I checked what was using all my data and yes, its Spotify.

I have been using Spotify for ages too and after marshmallow update my Spotify sounds like crap and is sucking down data like nothing else.

This needs resolved as Ive now dug out my Ipod and realise in some ways how much I miss it.

Next will be a check in Apple Music - get this sorted.

I guess there is a 'rat' sitting inside dev team, helping Apple to get new customers.

How the hell can it be tagged as "solved"? Since I had the Android 6.0 version Spotify is an useless thing for me. For giving a clue, I have a similar problem with Porwer AMP, but not with Play Music (the Google app).

It's completely anoying, it must be fixed. And switching off the equalizer is not a solution.

I think we must keep posting, maybe then we will be heard... I feel ignored. If Spotify uses NPS, they surely are not getting a great score...

Agree, Spotify devs need to get it together and at least acknowlegde the problem.

The same issue occured with the Android 5.0 release, and eventually got sorted.

PLEASE FIX SPOTIFY ON ANDROID 6.0

Hey, I also have this problem since like 2 months and still no solutuion found. Why is turning off the EQ given as a solution? Probably ,,fixed'' threads got ignored by the devs. We should just do a new one, this problem isn't big enough to not getting fixed for few months. If this problem isn't solved till my next payment I have to switch to a other player.

After a clean install of marshmallow a few weeks ago the problem is gone, spotify works really fine.

For me, it doesn't sound like a solution. I don't want to drop all my settings, files and other stuff, just because someone in dev ignores our problems.

Guys, seems the issue has been fixed in the latest release. Problems with the sound are gone.

Nah, not entirely, at least for me. Its better but not perfect. I still get weird noises every now and then.
