Aplicativo muito lento / App very slow

Hi @iLucas23,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome! We hope you don't mind us responding in English as this is the official language of the forum.

Kudos for already trying some troubleshooting steps and thanks for sharing those details, but we'll ask some additional questions to get a better understanding of the situation.

Have you tested with a different internet connection? You mentioned that you were previously able to turn off Offline mode, but could you share what happens now if you switch it off? Does it enable itself on its own?

Is the app's performance slow with downloaded content, when you're streaming music or both and does the issue persist on another device?

Hope to hear from you soon 🙂

Hey there @christiannmc,

Thanks for your reply here and welcome.

That being said, we think it is worth trying some of the troubleshooting mentioned in this thread. You can:

  • Perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected devices. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.
  • Remove the apps that you've noticed have some issues to sync with your account. You can easily reconnect the apps that you use whenever you want. You can do this by heading here and using REMOVE ACCESS button.

If that doesn't do the trick, it'd be awesome if you could share with us:

  • The make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there.
  • We'd like to know if it's always behaved like that or if this behavior started after a specific event/update.
  • Does this happen if you open your account on a different mobile device? You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

Keep us in the loop!

Olá. Tudo bem?

Hey @iLucas23,

So sorry to see you’re still experiencing issues with your app. Let’s try and take things further together!

You’ve mentioned you’re no longer having issues with the offline mode - was there anything particular you did to fix this or did it just start working on its own?

And could you also share the TS you’ve done already and confirm you’ve gone over the steps suggested above by @AlejaR?

Please let us know if you're using the same device now as when the issue first occurred.
You can list the make/model and OS version of your device, together with as your Spotify app version as well 🙂

Tip: A video recording of the issue can often be of help!

Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for new replies here 🙌🏼

Hey @iLucas23,

Thanks for your reply and for testing!

If the screen recording is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video. We also wanted to double-check a few things, since they were suggested previously and we want to make sure you've tried them:

  • Can you check if the app's behavior improves with a different internet connection - different WiFi, mobile data, hotspot from another device
  • Is it across all your devices or just the phone? Can you check the desktop app and the Web Player as well?
  • It'd be great if you can log in your account on a friend or relative's device to check if the issue persists there to see if it might be account-related
  • Do you use a SD card on your phone? If yes, try removing it temporarily to see if that makes a difference

Let us know how it goes.

Oi Dessi.

Hey @iLucas23,

Thanks for following up and for the video you included!

Looking at the video, it seems like you're trying to open quite a big playlist - could you confirm if it behaves the same way with smaller lists as well? How about on another account as mentioned by @Dessi?

We can also recommend that you check the phone's battery settings. Make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option, or as an alternative you can switch it off while using Spotify.

If you haven't already, could you also check if you have enough free space on your phone? Do you notice any difference in the app behavior after restarting the device?

Keep us posted on how it goes!

Oii desculpe a demora.

Hey @iLucas23,

Thanks for the additional details! 9000 is a big number so it might be what's causing the inconvenience here.
What I'd recommend is splitting the playlist into two halves by using the desktop app. Here's how you can do so:

For the song range you wish to move away from your main playlist:

  1. Select its first song and then Shift-select the last song of the song range
  2. Press Ctrl+C to copy the range
  3. In a new playlist, press Ctrl+V to paste it

Once this is done you can safely remove the songs from your main playlist to see if this would make difference on the ap pspeed!

Tip: It's a good idea to clear your app's cached data on all devices when everything is complete 🙂

Hope this helps. Keep us posted on how things go!
