Hi there @Dkilla,
Thanks for the reply!
Could you check if you'd be able to switch the audio playback to your car's Bluetooth (instead of Android Auto) from the Spotify Connect menu on your phone? You'll find the option in the bottom-left corner of the Now Playing View. Something else that's worth trying is re-pairing your phone with the car's Bluetooth to see if that does the trick. Also, make sure you've selected your car as the audio output device from your phone's settings.
If that doesn't do the trick, it might be worth reaching out to Google regarding Android Auto for more information and further assistance.
Hope this helps.
okay so I think I exactly know what the problem is here and why our Bluetooth devices names dont show up in the app. its because of the nearby devices option when u guys sign in you click yes thats when it doesn't show the name. Just disable the nearby devices option from the app setting and ur Bluetooth device will show up. I think its a bug that spotify needs to look into it. Before even with nearby device setting turned on the Bluetooth device name would show up but I dont why its doing like this. And this solution works 100%
I just tried it and it doesn't work; I can't see the audio outputs! This is the Spotify app that doesn't work well, that has a problem with Android.
A friend just connected his iPhone to my car and there, directly, he has the choice of audio outputs and it works.
Thé car is good connect woth the Phone, no problem with ios but other android os hasard a problem to connect. Vers strange we cant choose audio output in android spotify app but in ios yes!
Disabling "nearby devices" permission for the app solved the issue for me as well. Now bluetooth device name is shown in the app while it is connected to the phone. Thank you @devansh9437 for finding this.
where do you see this option on spotify ? thank u
Hey folks,
Thanks for sharing what worked for you!
@Dkilla, this can be found in your phone's settings under Apps > Spotify > Permissions > Nearby devices.
Let us know if that helps, so we can investigate further and if needed, forward it to our tech team.
Cheers,
Hello,
I tried what you said, disable "nearby..." but it still doesn't work. I really don't understand why I don't know how to choose the audio output, when everything is connected with the car's Bluetoo
I tried again with an iPhone and no problèm, only with android spotify app
The problem is with the Spotify app.
By the way, thanks for the help
Hey @Dkilla,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Since the solution suggested by @devansh9437 worked for the other users, for now, we'd recommend keeping the Spotify app up to date to receive the latest fixes and optimizations.
We'll be on the lookout for more reports about this and if we're able to gather some more data, we'll keep you posted.
Cheers!
hello,
I've tried so many times but still have the same problem. Can't choose the audio output. When CarPlay is connected, it is impossible to choose my Audi Bluetooth (not show) in the app. When I disconnect CarPlay, in the app my Audi Bluetooth is show and play, but I can use CarPlay (Waze, etc.). It's a bug from the Spotify app, the fact audio output is not showing. It is very disturbing for me because I need the two options. With iPhone, no problem, but with Android...
Thank you for your help!
I hope you can report this to your team, and they can help me asap, please.
Hey @Dkilla,
Just wanted to make sure I understand you correctly - you want to choose the Bluetooth output since you're not able to play music when connected through CarPlay? Are those 2 different systems in your car? I'm using Android Auto with an Android phone and I also can't choose the output but the music plays through the car's speakers when connected to AA.
Please give me a more detailed description of your setup and I'll see what I can suggest next.
Cheers,
