Book Podcasts not Playing in Chronological Order

I'm trying to listen to a podcast that very much needs to stay in chronological order. When I set up the sorting so that the playlist looks in correct order, the queue still shows it backwards. When I change the Date arrow to the opposite direction, the queue does not change to the correct order. At this point I have to "add to queue" each chapter so that it will be in order, every time I want to listen to it. Then if I listen to anything else between chapters, I have to re-queue up the correct chapters in the correct order. It seems like there should be an automatic way to play these in the order they're listed in on the podcast.

Hiya Z, it can be frustrating when the queue of a podcast in Spotify does not reflect the correct chronological order. Here are a few things you can try to ensure that the episodes play in the correct order:

  1. Check the episode numbers: Make sure that the episode numbers are correct and listed in the order they were released. This is particularly important for serialized podcasts where the story builds over time.

  2. Manually add episodes to the queue: Instead of relying on the automatic queue, manually add each episode in the correct order to the queue. You can do this by clicking the three dots next to each episode and selecting "Add to Queue."

  3. Use a different podcast app: If you continue to have trouble with the queue in Spotify, consider using a different podcast app that may have more customizable options for playback and queuing.

  4. Contact Spotify support: If none of the above solutions work, you can contact Spotify support to see if they have any suggestions or if there is a bug in the app that needs to be fixed.

Overall, it's important to remember that technology is not always perfect, and sometimes manual intervention is necessary to ensure that things work correctly.
