Can't move Spotify data/songs/playlists to my microSD card

I would like to use my microSD card in my device to store all of my songs as opposed to internal storage, however the option that is supposed to let me choose my storage space is not showing up in the settings menu. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, which didn't work. I cannot delete anything other than the app itself or the cache, as I have tried and cannot access my internal files through neither my PC or any 3rd party file manager for whatever reason. 

As shown here (and in the screenshot below): [https://support.spotify.com/is/using_spotify/search_play/save-to-sd-card], the requirements for using your microSD as storage are having 1GB of free space and the SD card must be accessible. I have 13GB of unused storage on my card, so that shouldn't be an issue, and I have tried formatting the card as both portable storage and as internal memory as well, neither seem to work.

My device is a Motorola Moto G 2nd generation running android 6.0 Marshmallow.

"Just make sure you have an Android/data/com.spotify.music folder on your external SD card. Once this folder exists, a new option Storage is available on Spotify Settings. There you can swith to SD Card. Worked for me on Adroid 5.0."

Someone else said to just go to that location and create a folder titled that.

They said:

1. delete downloaded songs

2. go to device storage/android/data -> move com.spotify.music to SD memory card /android/data (It might already be there i'd just overwrite it, donno if it matter or not)

3. download songs

Hopefully that helps! I had the same problem and I can't remember what I did, but I think I just did the second one which is to move the folder to the SD card.
