I have followed a guide to be able to play local files on my mac. I tried to download it on to my phone. It would download but after not play the mp3 file. I have the devices on the same WiFi network, have the file downloaded on both devices, I even turned off the firewall to experiment if it would download. I've redownloaded the desktop app, the mobile app. restarted the devices. I just can't think of anything else. If anyone knows how to fix the problem, please let me know!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your local files.
Do you get an error message when this happens? If so, a screenshot of it would be helpful.
For now, you can try converting your local file into a different file type to see if it helps.
