My Issue

Spotify has been giving issues in many areas for me lately. It started with not being able to connect to any kind of speaker such as a Sonos, Google home mini, Google nest hub. Opening and closing the app many times it will eventually connect and it will only play 2 song then stop.


I have tried the following:

  • Closing the app.
  • Signing out and signing back in.
  • Uninstalling the app by following the instructions listed here for how to fully uninstall the app.
  • Doing a complete sign out on all devices
  • Clearing all the cache from the device

This started happening a few weeks ago. It happens on my home wifi network and my work wifi network.

Thanks for posting in the Community.


Could you try using a different mobile device to test things out?


Also try checking if Spotify has all the necessary permissions to run in the background. Here is how to do that.

My Question or Issue

I see the Wi-Fi speakers in the list in Spotify, but when I try to connect to them, it just hangs indefinitely, saying connecting to the speaker, but never connects.

I have reset the speakers (tried two different ones), reinstalled Spotify, tried a different PC, all with the same results.
