Cant Play my PC local files on my Android phone.

Solved!

Cant Play my PC local files on my Android phone.

Ok so I have downloaded an album onto my desktop, then added the album to my libary by adding the file location as a source. I am now able to play the album on my desktop pc. I then moved the songs into a playlist. The songs in the album are mp3 format.

On my Andriod phone I then find the playslist and then move the slider so that the playlist is availible offline. Below the slider now appears "Waiting to download". The album does not downlaod. I have tired both 4G Internet and WIFI, I have deleated the cache and saved data. When attempting to play the music I recceive the error "This song is not availible".

Any help and support is greatly appreicated! Furthermore if you have any questions please ask.

Sorry if this has gotten quite repetitive, but maybe the "Ultimate" reinstallation helps to fix this issue.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. (In case you have the Spotify program open) Click File > Exit.
  2. Click Start then select Control Panel.
  3. Click Programs thenPrograms and Features.
  4. Select Spotify in the list and click Uninstall.
  5. Press the keys Windows+R simultaneously.
  6. Type in "%appdata%" (Without the quotes).
  7. Search for the Spotify folder and delete it.
  8. Go to http://www.spotify.com/download and reinstall Spotify.

I'll also need to ask you to reinstall the app on your Android phone with these steps:

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings > Apps.
  2. Find Spotify in your list of apps.
  3. If you're able to, tap Clear Data and Clear Cache.
  4. Tap Uninstall to remove the app.
  5. Turn your device off and then back on.
  6. Open Google Play then search for and install the Spotify Music app.

If you are still having trouble, have a quick look at this topic and verify if some of the solutions there fix your issue.

Hey @jonsmith98479! Welcome to the Community!

Try a quick clean reinstallation of Spotify.

This can fix most of the issues in the Spotify client.

Hi Thank you for the support.

After going though the thread you directed me towards I found the solution:

Windows firewall... Needed to make an exception in the windows firewall to allow spotify to access private networks.

Thanks again!
