Improving audio quality on Ford AppLink and Sync3

Hi all, hope you can help.

I know that the extreme audio quality setting for locally stored music sounds pretty darned good. But when I play Spotify through Ford Sync 3 using AppLink, it sounds poor.

I chalk this up to Bluetooth -- does anyone know of a workaround that would improve audio quality in my vehicle?

My phone is a Google Nexus 6.

Exact same issue here. Issue only affecting spotify, since about a month. This is a deal-breaker for me, if it doesn't get fixed I'm going to just cancel my account.
