My Question or Issue

Yesterday, my Spotify on my primary Android phone (S23 Ultra) was starting up on its own and was frustrating me. I decided to reinstall the app and this Chrome notification popped up. It spooked me. I never had this experience before. The URLs are indeed in my Chrome history. The URLs do contain Spotify, are they legit? Is my device compromised?

Today, I used my secondary Android phone (S9) to reinstall Spotify to check if this is a new procedure. No chrome pop up. I went back to my primary Android phone (S23 Ultra) and reinstalled, and there is no Chrome popup. Can anyone explain what is going on?

Hi @androidhat,

Thanks for posting this thread!

We checked and the notification you see seems to be expected behavior. If you try the link, it'll most probably redirect you either to the Web Player or the Account Page. It's possible that this was triggered by the reinstall of the app to sync up the Account Page with the account logged in the app.

Hope this helps clear things up and we're here should you have any other questions 🙂
