My Chromecast does not appear in the list of devices to connect to on the Spotify Android app (Galaxy Samsung S7). Other devices are listed (such as my PC). I can cast from all other apps (such as Netflix) from that same phone. I restarted everything (cast, router, phone...) and reinstalled Spotify (including removing all cached data)...
All versions are up to date...
And still... no way for Spotify App to display my Chromecast. I get bored, really.
It was working a week ago, it is broken now.
Any suggestion someone ?
Thanks!

Same here. I noticed it not working as of ths morning. Please fix ASAP.
Another one here, broken today over multiple Android devices.
Hi all,
We appreciate your reports. Just so you all know, we're aware of this, and our developers are currently investigating.
We don't have a timeline for a fix just yet, but it should be soon. In the meantime, be sure to keep your devices and app updated if prompted.
Thanks!
I also have the same problem since some days on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 ( all updates were done)

Come on Spotify,
You have millions of subscribers on the android platform.
This simply isn't good enough. At least push a message to the app to inform users of the issue. People might be a bit more accepting if you're honest and up front with them.
Thanks for the update.
Pretty dissapointed here, spent several hours deleting everything, looking at Network etc. I would have expected given the vast amount of money Spotify are making from premium members such as myself we would have seen some sort of notification/email warning of this issue. Just another issue with spotify along with constant pauses that is seriously making me consider cancelling my premium membership and going elsewhere !
I rebooted my Chromecast audio multiple times.
Did the same with the spotify app.
Deleted the cache.
Deleted the app.
Reinstalled the app.
It would be been great with some kind of notification.
If Spotify would just use the cast button like every other app, I would be so happy.
"We are working on it" ... Let's see
When I did a chat they wanted me to clear cache and reboot things. If they knew it was an issue why did't they just say so?
Until you come up with a fix, can't you just roll back to the previous version that did work? Seems poor to let your customers wait till you figure something out.
I've managed to get a workaround working...
I went with the web player (in chrome), and there I could select "Cast" option in the available devices, which then triggered the browser's casting options, showing all the chromecast I had available. Selecting one then made my phone able to see it and control the music.
I'm pretty sure if I stop casting from my browser it'll stop working, but at least I can listen to music for now.
What the heck is going on - same here - cant cast from my S7 edge to my chromecast anymore - worked perfect yesterday 😕
Spent 90mins on chat with Spotify this morning trying to resolve, even using a test sign on. Eventually I was asked to reboot my router, which of course stopped the chat. Why did they bother if they know they are working on a fix? Could have told me to wait for the fix to be issued? Suspect they do not have a clue and are ignoring the issue.
I think it might be people with new phones and now they've gone over their limit of 3 offline devices. Testing now. No real support as a paying customer certainly makes me question Spotify's customer service dedication. So does 3 devices max as a premium subscriber.
Also, if you go to account settings on the website to see your devices, they are completely generically labeled, so good luck removing the correct one on the first try.
Already tested that and nope - no luck
Version 8.4.35.152armV7
I have woken up this morning to the same problem. All other apps are seeing the chromecast just spotify is not. Realy anoying.
It would appear all is working again. I just used the app and I could see my chromecast speaker among others in the devices available list. Casting Spotify now as I type.
works here as well
Working again for me. Unsure if it was a coiincidence, but it was down for about 24 hours.
No related app updates (carrier, OS, or Spotify) were pushed to my phone in the last few days. At no point did I experience issues with other apps using the Chromecast.
Spotify, it's clearly an issue on your end - If it's some type of maintenance, it would be nice to have some type of notifiation or post so people are not putting forth an effort in futility to get casting back during that time.
