When I opened the spotify app this morning to download any new episodes from my favourite podcasts in My Library, I found a note where my New Episodes feed would be to say this was now not part of My Library and that I needed to go to Home to find new episodes. So now I have to scroll endlessly through my home page to find the banner new episodes of podcasts, and then I have to open each episode individually to then click again to get to download them. Then when I go back to the homepage it takes me back to the top again and I have to scroll down the page AGAIN to find new episodes and go through the process each time. It was a stupid change and I don't understand why you would make it so much harder for users than previously. How is this beneficial?

Dear Dessi,
Did you try to use the new "feature" on Android Auto? You just made it impossible to use Spotify while driving!
Please roll back this is putting drivers in dangerous situations!
That just made it worse... useless update
Before the recent update to the podcast page. Spotify used to have a list at the top of "New Episodes" that was for Episodes i already started but not finished.
After the update when I go to the new "Podcast Following" page, it doesn't have that same continue already started Episodes.
This is a terrible change that makes selecting and managing a daily influx of podcasts much harder work. That's bad on my android phone, but downright impossible in the car.
Put back the new episodes button, part listened list and the other functionality that we have lost please. Otherwise I'm off to another platform.
Adding my voice to the so many other people here. What on earth convinced you to make such a silly decision?
Who pitched the idea that removing the "New Episodes" function was a good idea??
Wade, is following feed what I see if I keep scrolling forever and ever on the homepage? That is an absolute horrible layout. I have no idea of knowing which episodes are the latest and if it's showing me any or all of them. Each one takes up a huge amount of space, unlike the previously compact new episodes. This is terrible, absolutely terrible.
..........and, its STILL showing as "solved".
Its not solved, and I am now using an alternative platform that - unsurprisingly - doesnt show me all the episodes that I HAVE ALREADY LISTENED TO !!!
I dont believe this was tested, either by users or the people on Spotify IT, because even a trained chimp could see it was a retrograde step.
Click on home>podcasts>following it's a green tab at the top. Only thing is you can't hide the episodes you finished which sucks.
This does not explain anything. The change has made listening to podcasts on the platform worse and less intuitive. It is now harder to keep track of what you have been listening to, more difficult to keep track of new episodes, and it is more difficult to clear episodes you don't want. I follow podcasts that I'll only listen to if I like the subject. I am now going to have to unfollow those podcasts completely rather than see their unappealing episodes stick around in my list for who knows how long. I suspect I'm going to have to stop using spotify for podcasts totally, and go back to a third party app.
Update, just went through and unfollowed a load of podcasts and I've only kept the ones I listen to all/most of the time. Well done on going someway to reducing my podcast addiction.
How do I manage my Following Feed, as I was able to do with My Library, and remove podcast episodes from My Feed and keep things organized and simple?
Whoever it was that thought that this lame-brained change was a good idea should be fired!
In absolutely no way is this an improvement. It's the opposite of an improvement; it's backwards. Restore it!
"Following Feed offers a simple and reliable way to catch the latest releases from the shows you follow, so you never miss an episode."
ACTUALLY, it was perfect before. I disagree that the new way is simple and reliable - it's difficult to find, takes more time and makes me want to download a different podcast platform completely.
A successful company/developer admits when they make a mistake. Just change it back, Spotify.
I agree with what has been said by everyone else. This is a backwards step and makes it impossible to find new podcasts on Android Auto. Very poor. This isn't a "get used to it" change, it is an "unusable app" change.
Yeah this sucks. You know we are driving while trying to navigate podcasts. Adding so many extra steps is crazy. Beyond annoying.
The day before they changed this, I was explaining to my friends why I love the new episodes feed so much. It's exactly how I have always interacted with podcasts and I would rather not change that at all. There's more clicking and searching when I have to go into each podcast individually or go search for the new episodes feed itself. I really hate this.
Still trying to make heads or tails of this change and I can't. This is a change worthy of making me switch to a different podcast app. That blows.
This is a bad change.
It is total rubbish
I absolutely do not accept this as a solution. They took one of the best features of the platform, hid it in a deeper menu and took away some of its core functionality. Removing the recently played and "unseen only" options is frankly insane. I don't even know how this makes them more money (since it obviously wasn't done to make the product better to use), maybe they are trying to convince us to just listen to what they promote instead of curating our own experience.
