Ford SYNC AppLink - need to rescan for Spotify app after each engine restart.

Ford SYNC AppLink - need to rescan for Spotify app after each engine restart.

After an engine restart. Spotify shows on the car screen but "Could not connect to spotify". Need to rescan for app on the car menu and it works again. Spotify app is running on phone etc, tried playing track not playing track.

Other bluetooth phone function etc all connected fine.

Any ideas on how to solve?

I also have the very same issue!

I have finally figured out a pattern to this. What seems to be happening is,

1. Start engine

2. Bluetooth starts connecting to car.

3. "Spotify cannot connect" message displayed after trying to connect.

4. Bluetooth finishes connecting to car. (With the message "emergency assistance" displayed if enabled).

5. Need to re-scan for app through Ford menu.

As a workaround

1. Start engine.

2. "Connecting to spotify" message is displayed

3. Switch to radio and don't let it get to the point of "Spotify cannot connect"

4. Give it a few seconds for bluetooth to connect properly..

5. Press AUX again.

6. This time "Connecting to spotify" will work.

It seems basically like Spotify is trying to connect before the bluetooth connection is fully established.

I am happy enough with this as it stops you having to rescan for the app each time.

So Sportify is working after i did a firmware update to my Mustang by going to owner.ford.com which you can download the firmware update. Hope this helps someone.
