How do I stop my phone from connecting to my desktop with Spotify Connect?

Everytime I open up the Spotify app on my phone or my computer, it will connect to the other one. I do not like this as it is kind of creepy and I did not sign up for it.

Any help that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

If your devices are sharing the same network, it is quite possible that the Spotify Connect option activates upon opening the Spotify App.

Spotify Connect is an option you can use between multiple devices and its main purpose is to serve as a remote control across the devices. You can find out more on how to manage the Connect feature here.
