How to prevent Spotify from running on phone when in use on PC

I think used to be called Spotify connect.  How to disable this useless and unnecessary feature that causes Spotify to run on our phone when using Spotify on a PC?

Obviously I've already read countless forms and Googled everywhere for an answer.  Being told to put my phone in "offline mode" is not a solution.  Obviously I could also turn off my wifi to accomplish the same.

This is an issue because its messing with other apps and draining resources.

I have a OnePlus 10T and whenever I am playing music in my mac (or my windows laptop) using the Spotify app I get the same issue. The notification and the media player for music appears no matter what I do. The worst thing is that the content shown does not even correspond with what is actually playing in my mac as if it is not in sync.

I have not found a way to get rid of it and I have tested all the proposed solutions in this thread.This supposed feature should have been tested accordingly. We should not accept an invasive application that is able to hijack the phone's resources.

I have been following this forum for years now and I find it rather surprising that Spotify is not able to debug and solve this issue, especially when it is so easily reproducible. We are not asking for the feature to be removed, we just want it to work correctly and to not be so invasive by giving us the option to disable it.
