My Question or Issue

When I join someone elses jam, and I join on their device I can't control the volume of MY phone.

Note that i understand that I can't control the hosts volume if they don't allow it. That makes total sense, but MY own phone volume seems to be locked tl wathever volume I had when joining the jam.

This is an issue. If I want to listen to other media, i can't control my own phone volume unless I close Spotify or leave the Jam.

This shouldn't be like that. I should be able to control my own phone volume.

Hey there @Sapra,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We understand where you're coming from, rest assured we'll do our best to help you. This might be related to the sound settings available in your Poco phone. While this might vary from one model to another, we'd recommend you make sure that:

  • The Adjust media sound in multiple apps feature is on. This one feature allows you to adjust sound for individual applications while multiple apps play audio simultaneously. To do it, go to the phone settings> Sound & vibration> Additional settings> Adjust media sound in multiple apps.
  • The Multiple audio sources option is enabled as well. With this one, the media volume is not going to adjust during incoming notifications or while audio from other sources is played. Sound & vibration> Additional settings> Multiple audio sources.

If the above doesn't do the trick, it'd be awesome if you could send us the following info:

  • The exact Spotify version you're running.
  • We'd like to know if it's always behaved like that or if this behavior started after a specific event/update.
  • A video recording of this issue.  You can attach the video to your next reply in mp4 format, or upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public.

Note: Be aware this is a public space, so please don't share any personal info on the screenshot you'll send us.

Keep us in the loop!
