My Question or Issue
Hi all,
I have a question regarding Spotify's volume normalisation, in regards to my own local files. Before spotify, I mainly used mp3gain to have all of my music have more or less the same volume and now with spotify's volume normalisation option, I opted to do the same.
However, I have come across the problem of trying to determine which mp3gain setting to use to match spotify's volume normalisation levels. Because spotify's volume levels are in -lufs and mp3gain levels in in dB, I am having a hard time trying to match the two together. For example, I wish to set my volume normalisation levels to "normal" and I thought that i have found the mp3gain equivalent to about 92 dB, but my local files are still a bit louder than spotify's normal option. I listen to music on both my headphones, speakers+car and listen to a whole range of genres at once usually, so having volume normalisation on is very important to me.
If someone could provide a dB equivalent or estimate to spotify's various volume settings, I would really appreciate it, as I would hate to have to redownload all of my local files again just to change the volume levels (truly wished that volume normalisation worked with local files, but that deserves its own thread)
