My Question or Issue

I have maybe 30 local files that I need to use on my mobile phone while at the gym as part of bigger playlists of regular Spotify-available music. Several of these MP3s repeatedly un-sync, either becoming unplayable on my phone or will play if I tap them but will NOT play automatically as part of a playlist. Spotify has been of NO HELP. I've done the uninstall re-install thing. I've moved the files to new folders. Something is going on with these MP3s specifically and I don't understand what it is or how to fix it. These are mostly clean versions of songs that Spotify doesn't have, so not always from standard sources like Amazon or iTunes. But only 2 in particular always seem to break.

Hey @HeatherR64.

Thanks for posting about this in the Community - we'll be glad to help 🙂

Bear in mind that Spotify supports the following file types:

  • .mp3
  • .m4p (unless it contains video)
  • .mp4 (if QuickTime is installed on your computer)

Could you make sure that those two songs which keep breaking are in one of the above file formats?

Thanks! We'll be here in case you need any further help 😉

Yes, I'm aware. They are MP3s.
