Hey @ysloys,

Thanks for reaching out.

Spotify officially supports the most recent versions of the app and older versions such as 8.x may no longer be able to log in correctly because they can be incompatible with current Spotify services and security requirements.

If you're experiencing overheating with version 9.x, we'd recommend:

  • Making sure you're using the latest Spotify version available from Google Play Store.
  • Clearing the Spotify cache and restarting your device.
  • Testing whether battery optimization, game/performance modes or background-management apps on your device are affecting Spotify by changing their settings/disabling them.
  • Testing with a clean reinstall of the latest version.

If the overheating happens only with Spotify, please let us know:

  • The exact Spotify version you're using
  • Whether the issue occurs during streaming or general browsing in the app
  • Whether it happens on WiFi, mobile data, or both

We'll be on the lookout for your response!
