LogIn not possible on Android app

Hi,

I installed Spotify fresh. So very first install ever on my phone.

But I can enter my details as often as I want to and it always tells me that my username/password are invalid.

I try them on my computer in my browser: no issues at all!

I uninstalled, checked that there is no spotify folder on my memory card and re-installed. Same issue!

I even tried resetting my password from the mobile app and got an email. When I open the link I am told that the link has expired. Tried this multiple times. Always the same result.

And my password is still working, so I can still log in on my PC. But the Android app does not work at all.

Any help?

Two possibilities. Firstly are you sure both logons identical. No issues with logon details getting overwritten by browser? No character case issues? Also check the device list on PC. Remove any old or duplicate devices.

Another source of confusion is that you can't log in on android using your email address whereas you can do this on PC. You need to log in nwith your spotify user name or, if your accont is linked to facebook, use the "log in with facebook" option.

That was the solution!

It clearly states "email or username" and then email does not work? Come on Spotify, how hard is it to either fix the text or fix the app?

I tried and tried and then the solution is so simply and the app programmed so stupidly -.-

The android app which is what I mostly use has been a work in progress ever since I can remember. I'm moving on to Play Music as my patience has run out. Good luck!

I was a Rock Star for years and it hasn't been an easy decision but I've been using Play Music on a three month trial and it does what it says on the box - no unpleasant surprises. It's a pity because Sporify offers features I really like but a stable app is important. Listening to music should be enjoyable 🙂

Lord please help me. I have tried every which way possible to log into the app on my Note5. I've tried to log in the app on my pc. Nothing works!!!  For crying out loud, what is the deal here?!?!!

Hi Joe - Are you saying that getting the Spotify app on my Android to recognize my CORRECT uname/pswd combo (as it is capable of doing on my laptop) is perhaps a pipe dream? (I'm not using my email addy; just my uname.)

And, if there's anyone else out there with an opinion or a solution please chime in!
