As you can see on the image these essential features are gone. Surely there must be way to shuffle or I will have to revert to an earlier version

Strange, I still get the usual icons. It may be that you've drawn the short straw and been selected for a sadistic A/B test and you may need to contact spotify direct. It's worth reinstalling the app first, following these steps.

I belive this is linked to the account. I was in contact with customer service for another issue, and they gave me a test account. That test account had those buttons replaced as you described. My real account has the shuffle and repeat buttons as usual, so this might be some change that Spotify is trying out on some accounts.
