Plan: Premium
Country: Netherlands
Device: Polestar 2 (software 3.4.4)
Operating System: Android Automotive (AAOS)
My Question or Issue:
Unable to login because of a weirdly formatted login screen. The app appears to be for mobile devices instead of a car.
The issue began after clearing the Spotify app's storage/cache and being prompted with the login screen.
The issue seems similar to the 'App not working on Volvo and Polestar cars' problem from earlier this year, but back then I was able to fix it.
What I've tried myself:
Removed the app from all profiles > Reset of the Centre display > Reinstalled the app.
I've attached a video showing the issue.
Same here on my Volvo V60 with Android Automotive (AAOS)
Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out and flagging this!
We've let our tech team know and it's on their radar now, so we'll let you know as soon as we hear back from them and have any info to share.
Take care.
Experiencing similar issues in 2024 Volvo V60, in the last few days it was suddenly logged out and now unable to log in. As soon as I tap login this screen appears.
i’ve already reset the system, reset app settings and removed and reinstalled spotify several times
On my 2024 Volvo S60, I was forced to re-login to my account. When I got to the login screen, I experienced the small screen issue stated above. Due to the small screen I am not able to scan the QR code and thus can’t login. Started having the issue today May 21,2025.
I even can't use the "pairing" option via spotify.com/pair because a button is hiding the last two digets.
Just picked up a xc40 and gets the same issue. Loginscreen is just a thin line so i can't scan the qr and the last two digits on pair gets hidden.
Having this issue with XC90 since Wednesday, May 21. Had car in for pre-scheduled maintenance, but software update did not fix issue.
Hi everyone! I got logged in. Spotify doesn’t limit the amount of times you can try a pairing code. So I got it to a pairing code where only the last digit is covered (you can tell what the second to last digit is if it’s something like J E S, etc. Then I just tried the pairing code with every number and every letter until I got it right. Successfully logged in now! Hope Spotify fixes the small screen issue, but hopefully you can use this tip to use the app in the meantime.
How did you just got the last digit covered?
On my car (2023 XC90), the second to last digit was only about halfway covered. So I could tell what that digit was.
Crazy...
Not possible in my 2023 V60 as you can see here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/Android/Login-screen-issue-on-Polestar-2-AAOS/m-p/6974501/highlight...
both last two digets are fully covered by a button.
We have exactly the same issue on a Volvo XC40 2024 - AAOS V3.1.9. It would be good to know when a fix is due.
I am experiencing the same issue with my XC40 that was delivered on May 23rd.
The pairing code is also the same as other people's, only 6 digits were displayed.
Uninstalling → restarting the system → reinstalling doesn't work, and neither does tethering.
What should I do?
Mamy dokładnie taki sam problem w Volvo XC40 2025
Same issue here. Why isn’t it flagged under “ungoing issues”?
anyone found a workaround?
Hi mod. Any news on this one?
I have the same issue in my Volvo XC90. Unable to log-in because the log-in window is letterbox small so no way to scan QR or read codes
As of yesterday I was able to login again.
It still had the weirdly formatted login screen, but this time I was able to scroll to the pairing link and see the full Pairing Code.
I have the same issue for the last week. I have a 2023 xc90. Funny part is the Spotify app is still logged in under other profiles. Just logged out in my profile and I can’t log in.
