Losing last playing track when closing and re-opening app after a while

Hi all. I'm a Premium user, using Spotify 1.4.0.631 on a Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.4. Here's the typical situation where I find the bug I wish to report:

- I download tracks to listen in offline mode

- I play offline music, then later I pause a track and possibly quit the app

- Later, I re-open Spotify and then...it says "track not available" (or something similar, I'm from Italy and the exact caption is "Questo brano non è disponibile"). Ultimately I lose my last playing position, which is VERY annoying!!

It seems to happen only with offline tracks. Please check it out, because it's truly bothering! Thanks! 😉

Hi, Spotify can only remember track position online due to it being retained on the server. I agree, it is annoying when listening to offline tracks, but if it were built into the app to remember a position this could conflict with the online method. Maybe have a look in the ideas section and see if it's been suggest? If so, add some kudos. If not, crteate a new idea and we'll see if it's possible.

Thanks Daniel for your reply. I really wonder where's the problem in saving a simple "timestamp" (or so) to local data for keeping track of offline playing position?? 😕

Agree, it does  seem like a simple thing to implement.

In fact I'veremembered a previous thread about this and it was confirmed as a known issue which should get rectified shortly. Have a read through this thread for more detail:
