Marantz M-CR603 connects to Iphone and Mac but not to Android ?

Hi everyone,

I've checked the forum and I know that M-CR603 is not "officially" listed as spotify connect compatible.

Nonetheless, it works fine with :

- my mac (through the system but not through the spotify app)

- an iPhone (through the spotify app)

But it doesn't with my Android phone.

I guess the device is not fully compatible, but I was wondering if it may just be due to some settings or minor developments in the spotify android app ? 🙂

Hi. If it doesn't spport spotify connect, all you can do is carry on streaming music to it from your apple devices using airplay. Airplay is completely different from connect.

It's what I though. The spotify app on iphone and android are not using the same protocol ?

No, they use airplay which is an apple streaming solution. The main difference between them is Airplay streams data from the device you are using to the receiver over wifi. Spotify Connect hardware devices stream direct from the Spotify servers.
